HPD: Stolen car used to ram Shell Shop in burglary incident

Hopkinsville police are investigating after a stolen car was used in an attempt to gain entry to the Shell Shop early Tuesday morning.

ECC received an alarm call at the Shell Shop on Hammond Drive about 4 a.m. and officers arrived very quickly, according to Sgt. Martin Lopez. Police discovered that a car reported stolen in Nashville had been used to ram a side door of the store that sells guns and ammunition, but the suspects had not been able to gain entry to the main lobby and fled the scene prior to officer arrival.

Police do not believe anything was stolen during the incident.
