Man sought on warrants arrested following pursuits

A man sought on multiple warrants was arrested following a vehicle and foot pursuit Sunday night.

A Hopkinsville police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 23-year old Nekoreale Thomas of Hopkinsville for an equipment violation, but Thomas allegedly continued driving and disregarded a stop sign as he entered a residential area.

The pursuit was terminated, but the car was soon found abandoned at North Drive and West 15th Street. A bag of marijuana that Thomas allegedly tossed during the pursuit was also found.

Thomas was located several minutes later walking on 15th and police say he ran into the back yard of a home in an attempt to get away. Officers were able to capture Thomas and he was charged with two counts of fleeing or evading police, tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and driving with expired tags.

He was additionally served with five warrants for failing to appear in court and probation violation.
