Woman arrested on burglary warrant

A North Carolina woman has been arrested for a local burglary that happened earlier this summer.

An arrest warrant for 27-year old Alexis Ferguson of Springlake, North Carolina says she broke the locking mechanism on a fence and forced her way into the back door of a home in Hopkinsville on June 15.

Police say Ferguson and the victim are acquaintances and that she removed her personal belongings from the home and placed them in her vehicle.

She then tore a flag from a flag pole mounted on the front porch, causing damage to the wooden pillar it was mounted on.

The entire incident is captured on video surveillance and Ferguson is charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and theft.
