The northbound ramp the travels from Martin Luther King Jr. Way to Interstate 169 in Christian County is set to close starting on Friday for a ramp update project.
At Exit 11 of the interstate, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews have been working to transform the current cloverleaf-style ramps to a diamond interchange with traffic lights. According to the cabinet, this style of on- and off-ramps provides motorists with longer acceleration and deceleration lanes and a better line of sight.
A detour will be in place; motorists will be directed to take the exit’s southbound ramp to Exit 9 where they can take the interstate’s northbound on-ramp. The ramp closure will last around four to five weeks, and the project is set to be completed by the end of 2026.
