Home severely damaged by fire, two cats missing

A home was badly damaged and two cats are missing following a house fire on East Seventh Street Wednesday afternoon.

The call came in about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Payton Rogers, who tells WHOP that the caller reported seeing smoke in the area near East Seventh and Thompson Street.

Firefighters arrived to find a home well-involved with flames coming from the front of the house. All residents were able to evacuate safely, though the structure was severely damaged in the blaze.

The residents will be displaced—two cats were unaccounted for following the fire.
