A Christian County Grand Jury returned numerous indictments on Friday, including for first-degree assault, second-degree assault and wanton endangerment.
Indicted for two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree criminal mischief and reckless driving is 21-year-old Tayshawn White of Oak Grove. He is accused of creating a grave risk of death and causing serious physical injury to two individuals in February of this year. In the same incident, he allegedly wantonly engaged in conduct that could have resulted in injury or worse to two different victims.
Twenty-five-year-old Adante Brown of Jonesboro, Arkansas was indicted by the grand jury for second-degree assault, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment with discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Brown is allegedly to have fired a weapon in March of this year, creating risk of injury or death to four victims, while also injuring a fifth victim in the same incident.
The grand jury indicted 23-year-old Yasmine Smith of Guthrie on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrested, attempted tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. officers responded to an area on Amanda Drive to assist an EMS crew with a subject, later identified as Smith, who had a seizure and had allegedly become combative.
Officers made contact with Smith who allegedly attempted to leave in her car, and EMS crew members had to step away to avoid being hit. An officer ended up opening the drivers-side door and putting the car in park. Smith initially refused to exit the vehicle, but later did to let EMTs check her for injury.
Smith reportedly denied EMS care and then attempted get back into her car. She was ultimately taken into custody.
