Man seriously injured in North Elm Street shooting

A man was rushed to the hospital early Sunday morning after sustaining a gunshot wound on North Elm Street in Hopkinsville.

It happened at around 1 a.m. in the 800 block of North Elm, and Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Payton Rogers tells WHOP News that EMS crews arrived on scene to find an adult male in his 30’s who had sustained a gunshot wound to the groin area.

Crews were able to stabilize him at the scene, and he was then flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for further treatment. His injuries were believed to be serious in nature.

The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating the shooting.
