The District 8 Softball Tournament championship is up for grabs tonight as the Fort Campbell Falcons will take on host Christian County at 5:30 p.m.
The Lady Colonels have won 20 straight district championships and have not lost to a district opponent since 2015. Christian County is 18-12-2 on the season.
Fort Campbell advanced to the title game with a 22-12 win over Hopkinsville on Sunday. The Lady Falcons enter the game with a 5-12 record.
Christian County defeated Fort Campbell 19-0 in three innings in their only meeting this season. The Lady Falcons have never beaten the Lady Colonels in fast-pitch softball.
This will be the final game played at Lady Colonel Field, which opened up play in 1991. Ironically, the first game featured Fort Campbell against Christian County, according to Lady Colonels’ coach Sheri Hancock.
Christian County will consolidate with Hopkinsville and play at a field at the new school next season.
Tickets are $10 and must be purchased at Gofan.com. Here is the link to purchase tickets to tonight’s game: https://gofan.co/event/6619753?schoolId=KY8632
