Matt Francies announced as the new principal of Indian Hills Elementary School

For the past nine years, Matt Francies has served as the assistant principal of Indian Hills Elementary School, and on Wednesday, the Christian County Public School System announced that he will be the school’s next principal.

Francies’ appointment comes after Principal Sara Johnson was selected to serve as the school system’s director of elementary instruction. Francies has worked in education for 18 years, starting as a health and physical education teacher in Memphis, Tennessee. He later served six years as a health and physical education teacher at Christian County High School before becoming the assistant principal at Indian Hills in 2017.

CCPS Superintendent Chris Bentzel says Francies’ experience, consistency and understanding of the Indian Hills community make him well-prepared to step into this role. Francies calls it an honor to be named the principal of Indian Hills and says transitioning from assistant principal to this new role is meaningful because it allows him to continue serving a school and community he deeply cares about.
