A Hopkinsville man is facing rape charges in Madisonville, following investigation into a suspicious vehicle early Monday morning.
According to the report from the Madisonville Police Department, officers were called to a location in Madisonville to investigate a suspicious vehicle at about 3:45 a.m. and in the process, discovered two individuals inside allegedly engaging in sexual acts.
Investigation determined that one of the individuals was a 12-year-old girl, while the other was determined to be 20-year-old Jeremiah Sanders of Hopkinsville.
Sanders allegedly told officers he believed the girl was 19-years-old, saying she had told him that, and they had had sexual intercourse in the past. He was arrested and charged with second-degree rape.
