While local graduates are setting their sights on life after school, our earliest learners are getting ready to tackle their first steps into schooling, with Christian County Public Schools hosting Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday.
Speaking with WHOP Wednesday morning, Martin Luther King Jr. Early Learning Center Principal Michelle Walden gave all the details, saying each elementary school will be hosting Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. and new students will get a chance to meet their teachers and make new friends, while parents get to ask questions and get registration squared away.
Then in July, Walden says they’ll be hosting Camp Kindergarten on July 20 through July 23, once again at all the elementary schools, where parents can take their child to the school they have been zoned for from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. those days.
Walden says they are asking people to register for that online through the Christian County Public Schools website, and this is essentially a jump-start program for kindergartens, where they’ll teach them all the need to know for their first year of school.
Walden says kindergarten registration is also still open, and they can help you get that squared away on Thursday, or you can register your child for kindergarten online.
