First Christian County Tigers basketball schedule released

The first opponent for the new Christian County HIgh School Tigers’ basketball team will be the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons. 

The initial schedule was released today by new CCHS Athletic Director Jacob Ezell, with the first game scheduled to be played at the new school on Dec. 1. 

Three days later, the Tigers will play host to District 8 cross-town rival University Heights Academy and the next day, Heritage Christian Academy will take on the Tigers. 

Christian County will be part of several top-notch tournaments including the King of the Bluegrass (Dec. 17-22) and the Lexington Catholic WGM Holiday Classic (Dec. 27-30). The Tigers also will play in the German Bank Classic at Bowling Green (Jan. 2), the BSN 2nd Region Spotlight against Grayson County (Jan. 9), and the Raymond Justice Classic hosted by Belfry (Feb. 13). 

The schedule is full of high-profile home games including Apollo (Ded. 11), Marshall County (Jan. 8), Henderson County (Dec. 12), Lyon County (Jan. 15), Graves County (Jan. 19), and McCracken County (Feb. 4). 

Road opponents include Danville Christian (Dec. 8), Thomas Nelson (Dec. 12), Christian Academy-Louisville (Jan. 22), North Hardin (Jan. 23), Warren Central (Jan. 25), Bowling Green (Feb. 9), and Louisville Fairdale (Feb. 19). 

The Tigers will play host to Fort Campbell (Jan 26) and have a road contest against Owensboro (Feb. 16).  

The team will play host to Webster County in the Preseason Shootout at home against Webster County. Henderson County also will play Marshall County in the Shootout.  

The Tigers also will play in the Louisville PRP Shootout preseason event on Nov. 21. 

The first opportunity to watch the Christian County Tigers will come June 1-2 at the Summer Shootout at the Jennie Stuart Health-Planters Bank Sportsplex.
