Hopkinsville Police arrested 23-year-old Yasmine Smith of Guthrie after she reportedly attempted to leave the scene of an incident in her car endangering bystanders on Sunday.
According to a report, officers responded to an area on Amanda Drive to assist an EMS crew with a subject, later identified as Smith, who had a seizure and was attempting to fight bystanders. At the scene, officers made contact with Smith who attempted to leave in her car, and EMS crew members had to step away to avoid being hit.
An officer ended up opening the drivers-side door and putting the car in park. Smith initially refused to exit the vehicle, but later did to let EMTs check her who said that she should not be driving after having a seizure.
Smith reportedly refused care and attempted to get back into the car. Officers attempted to remove her again, but after resisting, they put her in handcuffs and in the back of a cruiser. Then, a search of her car reportedly yielded marijuana.
Smith was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
