Business owners in Hopkinsville and Clarksville are competing in LOCAL’s Battle of the Bites for some friendly competition and to introduce new people to their businesses.
LOCAL is a community organization founded in Clarksville that spotlights and promotes locally owned businesses, and the organization recently expanded to include Hopkinsville.
Courteny Miralrio, LOCAL’s Business Specialist says they host four fan favorite events a year and in Saturday’s event, Battle of the Bites, businesses were invited to create apple flavored treats. A map of the participating locations is available on the LOCAL in My City app, and on Saturday, folks can travel to those businesses to sample those treats. Participants can also use the app to vote for which location had the best treats, and the winner will receive a traveling trophy.
Miralrio says the event is a chance for people to learn more about the local businesses in their community, and possibly find a new go-to spot.
Currently, 11 businesses are participating and Miralrio says two of them are based in Hopkinsville and will be set up at Herb Hays Furniture. She says they are still looking for more participants in Hopkinsville, those interested can call 931-297-1983, and more information about Battle of the Bites is available at localinmycity.com.
