CCPS Superintendent talks parent outreach, athletic fields and plans

As the deadline comes ever closer to the completion of the new Christian County High School, Christian County Public Schools have been meeting with parents to address any questions or concerns about what the school will be like for their students.

CCPS recently welcomed a group of parents to a presentation this past weekend, where they were able to hear everything about the new school at the Academy Model of learning that students will take part in. Superintendent Chris Bentzel says they were pleased with the turnout and they intend to have more events like this to help keep parents informed.

While the school itself is nearing completion—officials could be in the building as soon as the start of May—the athletic fields are really just beginning, with Bentzel saying the school board approved a bid in the amount of $8.5 million that will cover all the bases.

Bentzel says they’re driven to make something not just serviceable, but truly special for their students, and urged folks to have patience, as they work to create that experience.

Hiring continues at the new school for teachers, bus drivers, a choral director, basketball coaches and even more. Stay tuned to the CCPS Facebook page for announcements and more information.
