Paducah Tilghman blows past cold-shooting Hoptown

The Hopkinsville Tigers got off to a slow start and dropped a 59-56 boys’ high school basketball game to host Paducah Tilghman on Tuesday night.

James Bradley Jr. led the Tigers with 13 points. Jayon Bass had 11 and Layton Giltner added 10 for Hoptown, which played for the first time since beating Christian County on Jan. 23.

Paducah Tilghman (5-13) jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the opening quarter and pushed its lead to 36-26 at halftime.

Hopkinsville tried to rally in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Tornado 18-11, but it was too little, too late.

Paducah broke a six-game losing streak with the victory.

The Tigers, who fell to 14-10 on the year, are back in action Thursday night at home against Ohio County in a game that was rescheduled on Tuesday.
