The draws for the boys’ and girls’ KHSAA Sweet 16 State Basketball Tournaments were held on Tuesday in Lexington.
In the boys’ tournament, the Region 2 champion will play the Region 8 champion on Thursday, March 19 at Rupp Arena. Eighth-ranked North Oldham is the favorite to win Region 8.
Meanwhile, Region 4 is scheduled to play Region 13 in the second game of the day on Wednesday, March 18. North Laurel, which is ranked No. 12, is the favorite to capture the Region 13 title.
In the girls’ state tournament, Region 2 is scheduled to meet Region 11 in the tournament opening game on Wed., March 11 at Rupp Arena. Third-ranked Frederick Douglass is the favorite to win Region 11.
Meanwhile, the Region 4 champion is scheduled to play the Region 6 winner on Thursday, March 12. Louisville Butler currently has the best record in Region 6.
