The final year of the Christian County Colonels’ swim team came to a close on Monday at the Region 1 Swim Meet at the Rick Cohn Aquatic Center.
Henderson County edged Murray 354-324 to win the region crown. Madisonville-North Hopkins took third place with 307. Hopkinsville (174) and Fort Campbell (165) rounded out the top five.
Christian County took sixth with 163 points.
All three of the Colonels’ relay teams took fifth place in their individual races.
The 200-yard Medley Relay team of Kolton Parker, Sam Peck, Shemar Barker, and Evan Meacham finished in 2:21.47. Meanwhile, the 200-yard Freestyle relay team of Peck, Meacham, Parker, and Barker finished in 2:02.57.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Bryce Hamlin, Zachary Manco, Lucas Coats, and JiRell Maxie touched the wall in 5:34.04.
The Colonels will consolidate with Hopkinsville High School to make the Christian County Tigers next season.
