Agriculture community bids farewell to life-long farmer Bill Lester

The agriculture community is bidding farewell to longtime farmer and Ag. pioneer Bill Lester, who passed away recently at the age of 93.

Lester was in fact, a life long farmer, and the founder of Lester Farmers, Inc. His family has continued that time honored tradition and legacy, as he leaves behind two children, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, many of whom remain involved in the agriculture field started by Lester.

Lester was also a United States Army Veteran and was a member of the FFA, Young Farms Association, was a Founding Board Director of Hopkinsville Elevator and a Founding Director of Pennyrile Citizens Bank.

Funeral services for Lester will be on Thursday at 2 p.m. at New Work Fellowship in Hopkinsville, with the obituary on the King’s Funeral Home website.
