Early run carries Tigers past Todd County Central

Hopkinsville scored the first 12 points of the game and cruised past host Todd County Central 90-74 Tuesday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.

The Tigers had five players in double figures, led by Jayon Bass’s 25 points. Curtis Dillard added 22.

James Bradley Jr. followed with 16 points and Jayven Battle and Jonovan Leavell had 13 and 11, respectively.

Todd County (3-15) was paced by John Ross Cardwell and Jayden Glass, who both scored 18 points. Spencer Pool had 16 and Connor Holder added 14 for the Rebels.

Hopkinsville (13-9) returns to action Friday night as it hosts Christian County as part of a girls/boys doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m. The boys’ game should start around 7:30 p.m. The Hopkinsville broadcast can be heard at 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP around 7:15 p.m.
