With the threat of our first significant snowfall of this winter set for this weekend, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is preparing by getting the pretreating of roads process underway.
That means you’ll see crews and trucks out on state highways and roadways across the aera, speaking a salt brine mixture to the road surface, starting today. They’ll start with C-routes and progress up the primary A-routes by the end of the week.
Motorists are advised to be on the lookout for these vehicles, as they’ll be slow moving during the application process. In the 11-county region for District 2, there are more than 3,278 miles of state highway.
