Henderson County crushes Christian County

If the Christian County Colonels could have hit the re-set button in the first few minutes against Henderson County, they would have. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option and the northern Colonels routed Christian County 71-26 Tuesday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.

Henderson (12-4) jumped out to a 14-4 lead after one quarter and didn’t allow Christian County to reach double figures until the 4:56 mark of the second quarter.

The Henderson County defense was stifling all night and Christian County struggled to find its rhythm. Starting point guard Zion Acree did not play and Josh Bridges, who was making his first appearance after transferring back from Murray, sprained his ankle at the end of the first quarter and did not return.

Rahsean Stevenson led the Colonels (7-7) with 14 points, including 10 in the second half.

Amare Stewart and Travis Little each had 13 points and Braden Williams added 10 for Henderson County.

Christian County will play host to Lyon County Thursday night. Airtime is set for 7:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
