HRC accepting nominations, applications for Women’s History Month celebrations

The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County is now accepting both nominations and applications for the festivities that will take place in March.

March is known to be Women’s History Month, and each year, the Human Rights Commission celebrates by naming a Woman of the Year and awarding a scholarship to local young women pursuing higher education. Executive Director Raychel Farmer says nominations are open now for the Fannie Bronson Postell Woman of the Year Award.

They’re also now accepting applications for the Women Teaching Women Scholarship Award—both will be awarded at a Women’s History Month celebration in March.

Farmer says these scholarships wouldn’t be possible without the generous donations made by the community to the cause, and they are forever grateful for the support.

Stay tuned to the Hopkinsville Human Rights Commission Facebook page for updates on the plans for the Women’s History Month celebration.  Nominations and applications can be submitted through the HRC website.
