Christmas has come just a little early to families in Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties, as the Brice Long Back-2-Back Foundation was out in those communities handing out presents to families in need.
The Back-2-Back Foundation has been in action for 21 years now, and their goal is to help families in need locally all throughout the year, but especially at Christmas time by helping them have the best holidays they can. Country music artist, singer and songwriter Long was in the WHOP Studios Tuesday morning, and says he always feels blessed to be able to do this.
He says the Foundation has been working with local organizations to find the families most in need of a little help for Christmas, and they work cover not just their needs, but their wants too.
Long says being able to help these families, and growth of their fundraising efforts and benefit concert, is only made possible thanks to the unending generosity of the folks who live in these communities.
Foundation Chair Brent Gilkey says that with this effort being around for 21 years now, they often hear from those who have been impacted by the program and now, many folks who have been helped are looking to help others.
Gilkey says they’ll be able to help over 100 families this year, thanks to the generosity of their donors and their volunteers, and they hope to keep this going for as long as they possibly can.
