A two-vehicle crash in Hopkins County resulted in a fatality Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. in the 8900 block of Brown Road. Preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle driven by Blane Metcalf was heading westbound at the same moment at vehicle operated by Angela Bialek was heading eastbound on Brown Road.
For an unknown reason, Metcalf’s vehicle crossed over the center line and into the opposing lane, into Bialek’s path. The two collided, with both vehicles leaving the roadway.
Metcalfe was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office.
Bielek was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
