Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested 45-year-old Daniel Doss of Russellville after he reportedly led law enforcement on a pursuit that crossed into Todd County on Tuesday.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Doss at 1:47 a.m. near the area of South 6th Street and Spring Street for having an expired registration, but instead of stopping he reportedly began to flee. During the pursuit, deputies deployed tire spikes, but Doss avoided hitting them by driving off the roadway.
A little after 2 a.m. the pursuit continued into Todd County before Doss came to a stop near the intersection of U.S. 79 South and Old Railroad Lane due to his car being disabled. Doss then surrendered to law enforcement and it was also found out that he had multiple felony warrants from Logan County and Tennessee for drug offenses and fleeing.
Doss was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, disregarding a traffic control device, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, having an expired registration plate and failure to maintain required insurance.
