Forgotten Angels organizer seeks community gift, stocking stuffer donations

The Pennyrile Area Development District’s Forgotten Angels Project is in its 19th year, and Cindy Tabor is calling on the community to help ensure that those living in personal care facilities have a happy holiday season.

Tabor is the Pennyrile District’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman and also oversees the Forgotten Angel Project. Through the project, residents in personal care homes across the Pennyrile region share a gift they would like to receive for the holidays, and then folks from the community can adopt an angel and get that gift for them.

Folks can also drop off stocking stuffers. Tabor says snacks, stationery items, socks, gloves, scarves and hygiene products make great stocking stuffers.

Those interested in adopting a Forgotten Angel or donating stocking stuffers can visit the PeADD Office at 300 Hammond Drive in Hopkinsville. Tabor says they have around 50 angels left who have not been shopped for, and their deadline is December 15.

Gifts must be unwrapped and dropped off at the PeADD Office by the deadline. For more information, folks can contact Tabor at 270-886-9484.
