Two individuals, one of them a Hopkinsville resident, were arrested in Madisonville following investigation in methamphetamine trafficking.
The investigation conducted by the Madisonville-Hopkins County Vice Narcotics Unit, Kentucky State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration began in September into the allegedly drug related activity done by Stacey Dillard of Hopkinsville.
That investigation led to a traffic stop on Monday at a gas station on Anton Road in Madisonville, where Dillard, Destiny White of Madisonville and a small infant child were in the vehicle.
A search of that vehicle reportedly revealed roughly one pound of crystal methamphetamine that was found approximately 18 inches from the child. The Department of Child Based Services was called to assist at the scene with the infant, and two other children that reside with Dillard and White.
A search warrant was executed at a residence on Brown Road that allegedly turned up more methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a large amount of U.S. currency and suspected fentanyl.
Dillard and White were both arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in meth, possession of fentanyl and first-degree wanton endangerment.
