As the winter sports season gets underway, Heritage Christian Academy has hired a new athletics director.
HCA Headmaster John Walsh said in a news release Wednesday morning that the school has hired Stephanie Stallins to take over as its athletic director.
Stallins is a middle school and high school teacher at HCA and is helping with the Lady Warriors’ basketball team. Stallins is a former college athlete and has coached several high school sports.
Candy Hayes, who has served as the school’s interim athletic director since June, will remain in the athletic department in an advisory capacity to Stallins.
Hayes took over as the school’s athletic director when Matt McGowan resigned in the spring.
Walsh said the board and administration of HCA would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Hayes for helping the program during the time of transition between athletic directors.
