UHA’s Hancock, Parker earn Region 2 honors

University Heights Academy junior Kendall Hancock was named the Girls’ Region 2 Player of the Year as announced Wednesday night after the region championship game at Givens Field.

Hancock has 56 goals and 19 assists this season and has led UHA to its first Region 2 championship since 2008.

Meanwhile, Lady Blazers’ Head Coach Michael Parker was named Region 2 Coach of the Year. Parker has led the team to a 19-2-1 record this season.

The remainder of the All-Region soccer team include UHA’s Ajae Oatts Madison Williams, and Audrey Perry; Hopkinsville’s Grace Cansler and Kaydon Coats; Fort Campbell’s Abigale Allen; Caldwell’s Aliya Towns and Kiya Sears, Trigg County’s Leiah Hite and Maggie Wolfe, Henderson County’s Adalyn Gish, Layla Gugel, and McKinley Black; Madisonville-North Hopkins’ McKinley Wilson, Taylor Barber, and Taylor Nelson; Hopkins County Central’s Savannah Barnett, Destiny Caudill, Emma Van Diver, and Lilly Armour, and Crittenden County’s Ella Geary.

Crittenden County also earned the Sportsmanship Award.

All the awards were voted on by the Region 2 soccer coaches.
