Four teenagers charged in connection with shooting, stolen vehicle investigation

Four juveniles are facing charges following investigation into a shooting in the Clarktown Landing area on Tuesday.

According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers responded to calls of shots fired in the area and upon arrival, found that a home had been struck numerous times by gunfire. Witnesses told officers they had seen suspects flee the scene in a dark-colored sedan.

Not long after, a call came in from the Moores Drive area that a vehicle had been stolen, and investigation determined that vehicle was the one seen leaving the shooting scene.

Following investigation, individuals were identified and a search warrant was executed at a residence on Lewis Street, with help from the HPD Swat Team. That search revealed four firearms, two of which had been reported stolen.

Four male suspects were detained, three of which are 16-years-old and a fourth who is 17-years-old—all of them are charged with possession of a handgun by a minor, while the 17-year-old is also charged with receiving stolen property. One of the 16-year-olds is additionally charged with receiving stolen property of an automobile, first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree wanton endangerment.

The investigation continues, with additional charges possible.
