CCPS showing strong attendance numbers so far this school year

Fall break continues for Christian County Public Schools next week and hopefully students are resting up, because it’s right back to the business of learning on Monday.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel urged students, and staff, to take this week to recharge and rest up, make good choices, and come back to school safe and ready to learn.

It’s been a strong attendance year so far this school year, and Bentzel says they’re actually averaging about 94 percent student attendance overall. That’s a strong number in the way of attendance, and the superintendent says they’ve been able to dodge any big illness outbreaks so far this year.

He credits that, and the high attendance percentage, to safe and healthy practices they adhere to along with having a nurse on every campus—in fact, several of the district’s schools were named amongst the nation’s healthiest.

Bentzel is hopeful they can keep the trend going as we head into the next nine-weeks—and then it’s straight on towards the New Year, with winter break set to begin on December 22.
