A medical episode was the likely culprit in a single-vehicle crash Monday near the intersection of Princeton Road and the Eagle Way Bypass.
It happened just before noon, according to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, when 37-year-old Alexander Whisenant of Hopkinsville experienced a medical issue and lost consciousness behind the wheel while going through the intersection.
The vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch, where it struck an embankment and flipped.
Whisenant told deputies he remembered not feeling well but doesn’t remember what happened—by the time he came to, he had already wrecked.
He was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
