The Hopkinsville Fire Department responded to a garage fire that resulted in the death of multiple pets on Friday.
The fire occurred in a garage attached to a residence near the corner of West Riverwood Drive and Marietta Drive. Over 12 firefighters responded to the scene, and the fire was reportedly under control within 35 minutes.
A pet rabbit and a small kitten were saved from the fire, but five other kittens did not survive. No other occupants or firefighters were injured, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
