Trigg County receives state funding to replace bridge on Tanyard Road

Trigg County was announced as one of the recipients of funds from the County and City Bridge Improvement Program to replace the North Tanyard Road Bridge.

At Thursday’s Team Kentucky Update, Governor Andy Beshear announced that around $7.75 million in funds were awarded to 12 bridge replacement and five bridge repair projects. Beshear says bridges support people’s daily commutes to work and school, while also removing lengthy detours.

Since the beginning of the year, Beshear says $25 million has been awarded to bridge improvement projects.

Trigg County Fiscal Court was awarded, $620,000 for the replacement of the bridge on North Tanyard Road. Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries thanked Beshear and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for the funding.

The funding will go toward expanding the 32-foot bridge to 72 feet in length, and the bridge’s timber support columns will be replaced with steel.
