University Heights Academy got a statement win Tuesday night as it went to Madisonville and defeated the Lady Maroons 2-1 in a girls’ high school soccer match.
Skylar Cantrell and Kendall Hancock each had a goal and an assist to power the Lady Blazers to a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Maroons scored late in the contest but the defense, led by goalkeeper Madison Williams, preserved the victory. Williams finished the game with six saves.
UHA is now 13-2-1 on the season and will close out its regular season scheduled Thursday night at home against Todd County Central.
