Teenager charged following investigation into school threats in Lyon County

A juvenile is in custody following investigation into threats made Friday against Lyon County High School.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, students reported that during a lock-down caused by a separate threatening incident, a 15-year-old male student allegedly made one alarming statement and then one threatening statement to fellow students. Those students reported those statements to their family, who then called the Sheriff’s Office, who began an investigation.

Early Monday morning, the teenage suspect was taken into custody and charged with second-degree terroristic threatening.

It is currently unknown if this incident is connected to the initial threatening incident that resulted in a lock-down on Friday, but the investigation continues.
