Lauren Mayes continued her stellar cross country season Saturday as the Hopkinsville High School runner took 11th place individually in the Girls’ Varsity Race in the Logan County High School Cougar Run.
Mayes crossed the finish line in a time of 22:25.61.
Meanwhile, Alexis Herrera-Lovato ran 18th in 23:25 and Evelyn Bangart had an impressive run, finishing 43rd in 25:29.
Hopkinsville finished eighth as a team with 165 points. Graves County won the girls’ team title with 53 points, followed by McCracken County (109), and Calloway County (116).
Kaydon Coats ran 56th for the Lady Tigers in 26:35. Also running for Hoptown were Amerah Acree (78th, 29:33) and Luanna Acree (94th, 31:48).
Meanwhile, the Tigers’ boys’ cross country team finished 20th in the meet.
Levi Johnston led the way for Hoptown by taking 91st in a time of 21:56. Fernando Ginez-Rojas was 118th in a time of 23:21.
Others running for the Tigers included LaMareon Jeffers (136th, 24:21), Jesus Tomas (158th, 26:27), and Jacob Carter (179th, 31:49).
The Tigers competed without their top runners, including Tyson Cavinder and Savior Davis.
Apollo won the team title with 66 points, followed by Union County (95), and Graves County (113).
