Hopkinsville Police arrested 44-year-old Steven Gower of Sebree after he reportedly he reportedly strangled a victim on Thursday.
Police were dispatched to a location on Sharpe Street for reports of a disturbance. At the location, officers were not able to make contact with anyone. Officers later made contact with the victim at a Dollar General store near the residence.
The victim reportedly told officers that Gower grabbed them by the neck, threw them on a bed and choked them. The victim reportedly had bruises and red marks on their neck as well as a scratch on their chest.
Gower was later located at the residence and arrested for first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault dating violence.
