University Heights Academy played host to the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons in a high school volleyball match Thursday night.
The Lady Maroons won the first set 25-23 before the Lady Blazers bounced back to grab a 25-19 win.
However, Madisonville recovered to win the next two sets 25-23, 25-22 against a determined UHA squad.
Niyona Brown had a huge game for the Lady Blazers with six blocks, four kills, and four digs. Meanwhile, Megan Long finished with an impressive stat line of two blocks, one dig, 12 kills, and four aces.
Niyati Patel ended the night with three kills, six digs, and four aces and Kylee Grace had a strong serving night with six aces. Gretchan Durham had 29 assists and three aces.
Defensively, Cassidy Keller and Ava Crawford combined for 22 digs and Crawford added four kills.
UHA is now 9-14 and will play at Heritage Christian Academy Saturday afternoon in a District 8 match.
