The University Heights Academy cross country team took part in the highly competitive St. Mary’s Invitational Saturday morning in Paducah.
The Blazers finished 11th in the team standings led by junior Jude Finch, who medaled with a 22nd-place finish in 18:49. Senior Zech Davis (pictured) also had a solid race, taking 58th in 20:29.
Others running for the Blazers included Garrett Bowling (68th, 21:06), Scar Venable (79, 21:39), Hayden Hayes (110, PR 23:27), and Lucas Stine (121, 24:57).
In the Middle School Girls 4K race, Molly Cavinder ran 55th with a 24:39 pace.
Two younger Blazers used the meet to cut their personal times.
Finn Roberts finished 44th and ran a PR with a 7:34 time. Nolan Cavinder cut 2 minutes from his previous PR and finished 108th in 9:38.
The Blazers will head to Russellville this Saturday to run in the Logan County Cougar Run. This meet will give UHA a look at the new course at Logan. The course is the site of the 2025 Class 1-A, Region 1 meet on Oct. 25.
