Local animal shelter calling on pet-adopters to help them nab $100k in funding

The Christian County Animal Shelter is calling all who have adopted pets from the shelter—you can help them increase their chances of earning some grant funding through the Petco Love non-profit.

Submissions for Petco Love Stories are being accepted through September 29, and if you adopted a pet from the Christian County Animal Shelter, you’re invited to submit your adoption story and how your pet has changed or improved your life. Each entry increases the shelter’s chances to win $100,000 from Petco Love.

Just this year, the organization has awarded $500,000 to animal welfare organizations across the country. Submissions for Petco Love Stories are open to individuals ages 18 and older, or those with parental consent. In 500 words or less, participants can share their story, along with photos or videos of their adopted pet.

CCAS Director Melissa Goff says, “We absolutely love getting feedback on how our adopted pets are doing with their new families. One of the best parts of this job is knowing the pets are in loving homes. Now, with Petco Love Stories, not only do we get that enjoyment of hearing their love stories, but also the possibility of earning a lifesaving investment that can help us save even more pets
