For the second year in a row, Christian County Public Schools (CCPS) has claimed the top spot in Kentucky’s Safe Schools Week pledge campaign.

The annual campaign, led by the Kentucky Center for School Safety (KCSS), encourages students, staff and community members across the Commonwealth to take a stand for safer schools.

In 2025, 4,149 pledges were submitted from Christian County surpassing the second-highest district by more than 1,000 pledges. This year’s campaign, themed “Focus on School Safety,” took place September 8 to September 12 and served as a catalyst for meaningful conversations and actions centered on student well-being and school security.

According to a news release, Clayton Summer, Director of School Law Enforcement and Safety, says this is a testament to the commitment and seriousness of school safety in Christian County Public Schools. Summer’s says they are proud of the dedication shown by their students, staff and community members in making safety a top priority.

Established in 1998 by the Kentucky General Assembly in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education, the Kentucky Center for School Safety provides critical resources, training and guidance to school districts across the state. Its mission is to ensure that all students have access to secure and supportive educational settings.
