Burn ban now in place for Trigg County

A burn ban is now in place for all of Trigg County, due to ongoing drought conditions across western Kentucky that make fire conditions hazardous.

Trigg County Judge-Executive Stan Humphries signed an executive order Wednesday, banning all open burning within the county, including bonfires, burning of leaves, brush or trash and citizens are advised to use extra caution using grills and other outdoor cooking equipment.

Violators of this burn ban are subject to penalties under both county and state law.

The order is in place until further notice, with weather forecast indicating a prolonged period of dry weather with no beneficial rain in the outlook.
