Second-half flurry sends Trigg to big win over CCHS

The Christian County Lady Colonels were trying to get their second straight win of the season Thursday night, but visiting Trigg County had other plans with a 10-2 victory.

The Lady Wildcats scored three goals early and took a 3-0 lead before the Lady Colonels rallied to cut the lead to 3-2 just before halftime. Genesis McGee had both goals for the Lady Colonels on assists from Jayleigh Campbell and Emerson Boyd.

Trigg scored four goals in the opening seven minutes of the second half and pushed their lead to 7-2. The Lady Wildcats continued their offensive barrage and ended the game due to the mercy rule with 20:39 to go.

Neziyah Bell had 12 saves in goal for the Lady Colonels.

Christian County slips to 1-5-1 on the season and returns to action Saturday in the Lady Colonels’ Showcase. The Lady Colonels are scheduled to play Warren Central at 11 a.m. and McLean County at 1 p.m. at the Stadium of Champions.
