The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers’ volleyball team showed its grit Thursday night by holding off visiting McLean County in four sets.
Hoptown dominated the opening set 25-8 and rolled to a 25-15 win in the second set. But the Lady Cougars hung tough and scratched out a 25-20 victory in the third set.
The Lady Tigers dug in and held off McLean 25-20 in the fourth set to pick up the victory.
Madysen Taggart had 13 kills and two blocks, Lainey Stewart added five kills, two blocks, and two aces, and Kyleigh Weber had 10 digs and six aces.
Alayna King added 20 assists for the Lady Tigers.
Hoptown improved to 2-7 and is scheduled to play host to University Heights Academy Tuesday night in a District 8 match.
