Early offense helps Trigg defeat Christian County

The Trigg County Wildcats tuned up for their Class 2-A Sectional Soccer Tournament game tonight by routing host Christian County 6-1 on Monday night at the Stadium of Champions.

The Christian County defense faced a barrage of shots early, but it was nearly halfway through the first half before the Wildcats could get a shot past keeper Preston Gentry. Trigg added another goal in the 28th minute and were never challenged after that.

Noah Davis had the only goal of the night for the Colonels on an assist from Misael Baltazar.

Gentry ended the night with 10 saves.

Christian County slipped to 0-3 on the season and returns to action Thursday in a District 8 match at Fort Campbell.

Trigg County (2-2) will play host to Murray tonight in the Class 2-A Sectional Tournament game.
