Before the Fenton Dawson Invitational cross country meet started on Saturday morning, Hopkinsville High School senior Lauren Mayes was troubled.
Her hamstrings felt tight and she wasn’t sure how she would fare in the course, located at the Trigg County Recreational Complex in Cadiz.
Turns out, her hamstrings didn’t let her down as the Lady Tigers’ star runner finished seventh overall in a time of 23:05.
Murray’s Jade Green took first place overall with a time of 21:26.9.
Hopkinsville’s other runner, Luanna Acree, finished 77th overall in a time of 36:02.7.
