Todd Co. teacher receives Ky. Teacher Achievement award, up for Teacher of the Year

The Kentucky Department of Education has announced that nine Kentucky educators have been selected as recipients of the 2026 Kentucky Teacher Achievement Awards—and one is in Todd County.

In the middle school division, Todd County Middle School Teacher Kimberly Stevenson has received a Teacher Achievement Award, which is designed to honor outstanding teachers who go above and beyond to help develop the next generation of leaders.

All nine teachers will be honored during a ceremony in Frankfort on October 7. During the ceremony, KDE will announce winners of the elementary, middle and high school teaching divisions and from those three finalists, one will be named the 2026 Kentucky Teacher of the Year.

KDE received 753 teacher nominations this year, a 42% increase from the previous year.
