Colonels to scrimmage Northwest, Kenwood tonight

Christian County High School Head Football Coach Ethan Atchley is looking for improvement from his team on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball as they complete their scrimmage season tonight at Fort Campbell.

The Colonels are scheduled to have two-quarter scrimmages against Clarksville Northwest and Clarksville Kenwood tonight at Fryar Stadium.

Last week, Christian County went to Louisville Central and fell 18-0 in a two-quarter scrimmage with the Yellow Jackets.

Atchley said his offense, and particularly quarterback Tom Johnson, played well at times last weekend.

Atchley said he wants to see improvement out of his running game tonight when the Colonels face the Vikings and Knights.

The Colonels will play a lot of younger players this season, especially on defense. Atchley said the Colonels must be better defending the pass than they were last week.

Christian County opens its final season Aug. 23 at home against Clarksville Northeast. The school will consolidate with Hopkinsville High School to make the Christian County Tigers in the 2026-27 school year.
